STAMPIN' UP! - Daffodil Afternoon DSP #9

Recently I spent some time going through videos on YouTube looking for some cards to make using more of the Stampin' Up! Daffodil Afternoon DSP.   Too Cool Stamping with Angie Leach had a video making several and this is one of them.  You can click on the link to see the full video.  I am absolutely loving this DSP and have quite a few Easter cards made already for next year.

One of our daughters asked me to make 5 "Thank You" cards for those who are helping her with a graduation party for her youngest daughter.   I've made more than 5 so she can choose her favorites.

I hope you aren't tired of seeing cards made with this paper because there are a lot more to come.  I'm really trying to actually use up this pack of paper.

Thank you for coming by today!

DAFFODIL AFTERNOON DSP - #8

I started with a black card base and added a 5 3/8" x 4 1/8" layer of Bumble Bee card stock.  The black mat is 3 1/4" x 4 1/2" and the dsp is 3 1/8" x 4 1/4".  A simple strip was added with the Happy Easter.

DAFFODIL AFTERNOON DSP - #6 & #7

Two versions using a single piece of 4" x 5 1/4" piece of the beautiful designer paper.  This paper doesn't require a lot of extras!

DAFFODIL AFTERNOON DSP - #4 & #5

These two don't need much of an explanation.  I used the Label Me Lovely punch for the sentiments on both but then trimmed off the top and bottom edges of the pieces.

DAFFODIL AFTERNOON DSP - #3

Recently I tried making some slim line cards after seeing a video making a card similar to this.  This sheet of the Daffodil Afternoon dsp is perfect for making one.  I was able to make 6 from one sheet plus little pieces of the contrast paper at the bottom.

The card base is 7" x 8 1/2" and scored at 3 1/2" along the  7" side.

DAFFODIL AFTERNOON DSP - #2

For this card, I started with a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of designer paper.  I then cut a 1 1/2" strip off and flipped the remaining piece to show the reverse side.  These pieces were added to the top fold ivory card base.  The pretty daffodil die cut is from Simon Says.

STAMPIN' UP! - Daffodil Afternoon DSP #1

For the rest of this week and part of next week, I will be posting cards that I made using the beautiful papers from the SU Daffodil Afternoon designer papers.  These papers are perfect for Easter or Spring cards.  This card wasn't actually the first one I made but was left over from other projects.  I matted it with Evening Evergreen and the adhered it to the Ivory card base which is a top fold.  I was happy to see that I actually had a wood mounted vertical stamp to add the sentiment.

CASING CONNIE STEWART

A few days ago I ran across a video which Connie Stewart made about a month ago doing this type of card.  You can watch the video HERE.  While going through things on my table, I happened across a strip of this Origami paper and thought it would make a great piece to make the card.

The card base is ivory.  A strip of designer paper is added to the card base.  Accent strips are adhered to the edges of the two ivory pieces and then those pieces are added with dimensionals.

I heat embossed the sentiment and punched it out.  Dimensionals were placed on the middle section and little dots of glue were placed on the left and right sides of the piece before placing it on the card.

This is a great way to use up some of those narrow strips of designer papers that you have in your stash and are just too pretty to throw away.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KRIS!

Yesterday was my friend, Kris's, birthday and this is the card I sent her. This month was going to be so busy that I actually sent it to her a couple weeks early to make sure she got it on time.  This is a "Double Z-fold" card.  They are so much fun to make.  I used two different sheets from the Expressions in Ink paper pack. I absolutely love these papers.  They remind me a lot of using alcohol inks.

Thank you for stopping by today!

STAMPIN'UP! - Easter Friends

This is basically a CASE of one I saw on Pinteret, but I matted it with different piece of designer paper.  When I stamped the little chick in the middle I got it  little closer than intended to the duckling  so it looks like the duckling is giving a nudge to the little chick.  He's probably just saying "move it along".

It's Friday, so I hope you have a great weekend!  Thank you for coming by today!

STAMPIN' UP! - More Forever Greenery DSP

For this card I used the same papers as yesterday but a different gold foil die cut.  I stamped and colored a butterfly.  After die cutting it and adding it to the circle, I popped it on to the center of the gold foil hexagon.

Thank you for coming by today!  Tomorrow you will see the first of my Easter cards so I hope you will come back again.

STAMPIN' UP! - Forever Greenery DSP

i

Today I am showing another card that has just been "hanging around" waiting for it's turn to be posted.  I used two different patterns from the paper pack and then added a gold foil die cut over the top.  A quick and easy sentiment and a strip of the darker green card stock finished it off.

STAMPIN' UP! - Expressions in Ink

While I am finishing up the 28 Easter cards we will send, I will be showing some cards that I made a while ago but had not posted. The background has highlights of gold which give the look of having been made with alcohol inks.  I added a gold foil die cut from Stampin' Up!.  The sentiment was stamped and heat embossed on a piece of white card stock and then added to the center of the die cut.

FRIENDSHIP CARD

It's Monday and I had forgotten to schedule something to show up on my blog for today.  The weather has turned quite nice here finally and I think I must have Spring Fever.  (Anyway, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.)

One of my high school friends is going through a difficult time with her health.  When we had our 50th Class Reunion, she was such a big help and is such a sweet person.  Since I don't live close enough to be of any help to her, I am sending cards to her at least once a week to help her remember how much we love her.

This is actually a card I made some time ago.  While I was going through things in my craft room I ran across it and thought it was kind of fun and different than the ones I have been sending.  To do the colors of ink, I am pretty sure I took the edge of a stamp pad and just swiped it across areas to give kind of an artsy look.  Then I added the two layers of butterfly and a quick little hello in the lower corner.

STAMPIN' UP! - ART GALLERY

Life seems to have gotten in the way of making cards for the last week.  I'm still getting over whatever this virus is AND I'm trying to get a few things packed up and out of the way for the flooring people to come tomorrow to figure out how much this is is going to cost.

In light of  everything, for the rest of the week, I will simply be posting some cards that I'd made quite a while ago but had never shown up on my blog.  Tomorrow through Friday you will also see three more cards made with this flower and/or paper.

Thank you for coming by today!

LOTS OF RAINBOWS

I had hesitated to buy this set of stamps and dies but am glad I made the purchase.  When you use the die you get four pieces of the same color so I just cut it four times with four different colors.  The pieces aren't necessarily in the proper of how they are in a rainbow, but I still like all of the cards.

One is going to a high school classmate who is going through a difficult time.  One is going to a senior citizen who lived in our small town and now has dementia.  Her daughter said that her mother loves getting cards and that she looks at them and reads them over and over.  I'm sending another one to one of our daughters who brought OTC meds for me and I needed to reimburse her.  I only have one left so I think I need to make more.

Last week I mentioned having Cataract surgery on my right eye.  It went extremely well.  However, the very next morning I was supposed to go back for them to check my eye.  I was sick......literally.  I didn't move far from my recliner for 3 days.  I even took a home Covid test to make sure that wasn't what I was going through again.  Whatever bug I caught, it has now turned into a really nasty cough and head cold.  I just hope I can get over this cough before my other eye is scheduled in two weeks.

WITH HEARTFELT SYMPATHY

Last week I needed two sympathy cards for families.  Wednesday was the funeral for the Godfather of our youngest daughter.  The next day was the funeral for the father of the young man who was hired to take the job my husband held until he retired.

I saw a card on Pinterest that inspired me for this one.  I used blenders to sponge the Pear Pizzaz and Baja Breeze inks onto the masked square.  The stamps I used are similar but different than the ones I saw on Pinterest.

CASING ROSE MARONEY WARD

I post a most of my cards in advance and this is one of them.  Today I am having laser surgery for a cataract on my right eye.  I don't relish the thought of someone messing with my eyes, but this is necessary and I've had many people reassure me that it's all good.

I saw her post on Pinterest and had not used this image from "Flowing Flowers" stamp set.  It was a quick card to make and I wanted to make one right away. The only difference in mine is that I put the sentiment on the top of the flower instead of under it.  The dsp behind the stamped image is from the Hand-Penned Flowers designer series pack.  I really like this card.

THINKING OF UKRAINE

While watching some of the news on the situation in Ukraine, I saw a flag that had a dove in flight on it.  This was my feeble attempt to recreate it on a card.  My heart breaks for what the brave people there are experiencing!

Thank you for stopping by!

Two more cards using the "All About Autumn" retired dsp. Thank you for coming by today!
