GIFT CARD HOLDER #4

It's New Year's Eve!  I hope all of you have a great evening.  Please stay safe if you are traveling.

This is the last card holder I made this year.

This holder is similar to the first one but had about 2 1/2 inches cut off the right side of the front which allows the panel on the inside to show.

GIFT CARD HOLDER #3

This gift card holder has a belly band to hold it closed.

When the gift card holder is opened, there is a pop-up place for the gift card or cash to be inserted.  The white area gives you a place for a message and to sign your name.  I have one more to post tomorrow that I made this year.

Thank you for coming by today!

GIFT CARD HOLDER #2

This card uses another retired Stampin' Up! dsp.  I like the pocket on this card.  You can see how to make three different card holders HERE.  By using non-holiday papers, these are great to use for birthdays or other occasions.

GIFT CARD HOLDER #1

I just realize I hadn't posted the gift card holders that I made this year for the grandkids.  I used Whimsy and Wonder dsp with Mint Macaroon card stock to make this one. The dsp on the left side forms a pocket for cash or a gift card.  I purchased this paper when it was new and have used very little of it.  I love this particular piece.

HOW ABOUT SOMETHING FUN?

The mad rush and pressures of Christmas are now behind me. We did have a really nice Christmas Day with the family, but it's time to relax and have some fun making cards again...........and take a break from Christmas designs.

I used a combination of items from the Sunshine & Rainbows dsp, Rain or Shine Dies, and Playing in the Rain dsp.  This was a fun card to put together.  I fussy cut the cute little turtle and clouds from the dsp.  The turtle was added to a little circle.  After the kite was assembled, I popped the turtle and kite to the card with dimensionals.  Oh, and the sun is actually the smallest die cut from what is a layered flower die.  I added a strip of dsp to the inside of the card as you can see below.

Hopefully I will get back into the swing of having daily posts.  I'm really eager to get back to pulling out some of my huge stash of retired dsp but also making cards with some of the new ones I have.

Thank you for coming by today!

MERRY CHRISTMAS, EVERYONE!

Stampin' Up! came up with  the best stamps and dies for making Christmas cards this year.  It was an absolute joy working with these dies and papers.

Our family celebrates the Christmas season, but I know there are many who celebrate other holidays during this time so I wish everyone reading this Peace, Joy and Love!

I HAD TO CRY "UNCLE!!!" lol

The "pressures" of getting ready for Christmas have caught up with me.  I suddenly realized I have not posted anything since last Monday.   I hope to get back in the groove soon with daily posts but for now I am baking cookies and making other treats to share for the holidays.  Posting on my blog has to take a pause for now.  I found out I'm actually not "Super Woman".  lol

Stay tuned.........I will be back hopefully in a few days with some things to share.

CARD HOLDER TO GIFT CARDS

Robin Armbrecht had a VIDEO on Saturday showing how to make this holder.  It can easily hold 10-12 cards and envelopes.  I only had a set of six. The cards I put in the holder are actually cards I made from one of her one sheet wonder videos.

The color here looks a lot different for some reason.  Robin embossed the separate piece of card stock that was added to the front and back of the holder but then added some punched circles for additional embellishment.  Since I used this Cuttlebug embossing folder, I didn't want to hide any of the beautiful design.  If you watch the video there are two other ideas for card holders.  I had already made this one before I watched the rest of what she was showing.  The middle one is probably the best way to go.........this one does allow the cards to slip out the top if you aren't careful.

SHEPHERD AND SHEEP

Thank you for coming by today!

BTW, I guess the card for Allissa that was posted yesterday was a hit. She posted a picture of it on Snapchat and said "This card slays".   I had started second guessing myself and was afraid she might think the card was silly.   Allie is 25 years old.  She hadn't opened it when we were all together.  However, I have been told that" slay" is a good thing. YAY!!!  😀  The graduation was wonderful and I even managed no tears.

CONGRATULATONS, ALLISSA!

Today at 10:00 AM our oldest granddaughter, Allissa, will graduate as a Physicians Assistant.  I can't even begin to explain how proud we are of the hard work it took to meet her goal.  She's very intelligent and we know she'll do a lot of good for her patients.  For such a special occasion I actually considered buying a card for her (what a foolish idea) but decided that she would probably expect a one-of-a-kind card that I made just for her.  This is the card she is receiving from us.

Several years ago I made a similar style card for my mother's birthday with stickers having to do with what happened in the year she was born.  This was a really fun card to make.  When I decided to give it a try, I turned to Pinterest and found one that was similar to what I used on the front.  Then I turned to eBay and found two sets of stickers that I used to embellish the inside.

Allissa finished her rotations in Chicago and is living there right now.  She may spend her first year in Iowa as a PA because she was told that the Chicago hospitals don't hire them without previous experience.  Our family has always been pretty close so it was hard to see her move out of state.  We'll enjoy having her back her for a year and know that she has to be able to spread her wings.  We certainly wish nothing but the best for her in her future!

Thank you for stopping by today!

MORE STAMPIN' UP! DSP

One of the sheets of the designer series paper has a scene of Bethlehem along the bottom of the 12 x 12 sheet.  (The entire top half of the sheet is of a starry sky.  I wish they would have had it so you could get six cards with the design.)

I like this card, but I wish I would have stamped the sentiment a little higher. But as they say, "It is what it is."

CHRISTMAS CARD

I used the full die cut pieces for this card.  The set includes a star (not this one), the background of Bethlehem and the shepherds with sheep.  The pieces worked perfectly with the SU dsp. (Dies are not from Stampin' Up!)

RELIGIOUS CHRISTMAS CARDS

The shepherds and star on this card were cut from a die that is not Stampin' UP! but I really liked how the one was pointing up at the star.  The lamb, sentiment and dsp are from Stampin' Up!.

For this card, I chose to use only SU items.  I made it like one I saw on a video, but am wondering if the "star" isn't a little overpowering.  These items from Stampin' Up! were amazing to work with.

USING DIE CUTS INSTEAD OF DSP

I actually made this card last year but didn't have anything new to post here.  I die cut several of the holly pieces and adhered them to the card base before adding the die cut piece with the sentiment.  This card went to the Veterans Home.

I have several cards made using the beautful O Holy Night dsp from Stampin' Up! but I'm not ready to share them here because some of them will be going out locally and I don't want them to see the card here first.
