The Hydrangea Hill dsp collection has two sheets that can be cut in half giving you enough to make either 6 or 8 cards with the beautiful flowers a a border.  I chose to cut the 6" x 12" strips in four pieces that are 5 1/4" x 3".  I made these cards using the book binder style but in the vertical layout.  Instead of adding a coordinating piece of dsp to the left side, I pulled out an old Cuttlebug embossing folder to add a pretty edge.  The embossing on the far left card is actually "debossed".

Notice how the card opens.  The card base is 8 1/2" x 5 1/2".  I believe it was scored at 3" and 7 1/4".  I made a belly band to help keep the card closed.

I made this card over a month ago from a video I found on YouTube.  I forgot to make a note of who had posted this fancy fold.

Many people head to the beach on Memorial Day Weekend.  It looks like this mother Sandpiper is leading her babies for a day at the beach too.

I still have a few scraps of the "Sand and Sea" papers and it seemed to work well with the Seaside Bay bundle that I picked up from the discontinued items.

I hadn't watched a video from Lisa Curcio in a long time but I ran across one showing this card.  I have searched and searched for the video now for a link but cannot find it.  This card uses the Thoughtful Wishes Stamp set and the Thoughtful Journey dsp.  When the Wild Wheat "In Color" came out I really didn't like it but it is perfect with this set of beautiful papers.

Today we are attending the high school graduation ceremony for our grandson.  Next Fall he will be attending Iowa States University studying for a degree in engineering.

Thank you for coming by today!

I discovered that I had not posted a single card since last Sunday's graduation card for our grandson!I had cards in a folder that I had intended to post each day but just totally spaced off the need to put them here on my blog until today!  You may have noticed that they show up as having been posted each day but they were all done on Saturday, May 25.  (This was done primarily for my own records.)

The three cards below are another set that I made using Mary Knabe's 6 x 6 One Sheet Wonder patterns.  Two of the cards show a "before and after" of what I did to step them up just a little.  Once again these are using the beautiful Fancy Flora dsp.

Card #1

Card #2 - Before

Card #2 After adding the extra 1" horizontal strip of dsp.

Card #3 Before

Card #3 After adding the horizontal 1" strip of dsp.

I'll see if I can do better about timely postings next week. Thank you for coming by today!

This is a fun layout that can work horizontally or vertically.
Card base:  8 1/2" x 5 1/2"
Mat:  5 1/4" x 4"
Two dsp pieces:  1" x 4"
Two dsp pieces: 1" x 2 3/4"
White:  2 7/8" x 1 5/8"

If you are using a directional pattern, you will need to be careful of that.

TUCKER'S GRADUATION

Our Grandson, Tucker, will be graduating from High School next weekend but today is his graduation party.

My card is made pretty much like one that Susan Campfield showed as an example on one of her videos.  This is the video.  Susan offered the directions for a price, but I found another video that had the .pdf.  If you want directions you can go to this video.

The dsp is from Thoughtful Journey.  The deer are from Impression Obsession.  The die that I used to cut the trees actually had trees completely across the design.  I carefully trimmed out the ones in the center so the deer would be more visible.

A fun way to use more of those scraps of dsp. Most of the strips are 3/4" wide.  I had some that were 1/2" and some 1/4" ones as well so when using them, I put them side by side.

The paper does it all except for adding the sentiment on this one.

I have so many papers with strips of paper that would work on a card like this.

Two more cards using the Hydrangea Hill dsp.

After adding the sentiment to this card, I knew it was the wrong one to use.  I like the sentiment but it is much too overwhelming for this beautiful paper.  In spite of that, I decided to show you one of my "not a good idea" cards.

Thank you for coming by today!

I still have some of the Hydrangea Hill dsp and wanted to get this sheet used up.  I had made some of the vertical cards before from this sheet but made two in the horizontal layout.  The little butterfly and the sentiment are not from Stampin' Up!

Come back again each day this week for more cards made with papers from this collection.

I'd love to be able to give credit to whoever was the inspiration for this card.  I searched my YouTube history and also searched Pinterest.  It is such a great layout.   I love the Fresh Freesia color!

First of all HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!  We're hosting Mother's Day lunch here today.  It is always so busy trying to eat out on Mother's Day and to take the whole family has gotten pretty expensive.   I made the offer to have something light here instead and each of our daughters will bring a dish.

I made this card using a scrap of the Thoughtful Journey dsp.  The watercolor look is so pretty!

Thank you for coming by today.

A few days ago I mentioned a card that I made after watching Rita Holmes video.  I also mentioned that I had won the card she made during that video and that I would be posting the one I did like hers but I was waiting for the Thoughtful Journey dsp to arrive.  This is MY card.  Below you can see the card I received from Rita.  I changed up the sentiment and die cut the one piece rather than stamping it.

Rita's card that I won.

Once again Stampin' Up! has outdone themselves with this designer series paper collection.  It is beautiful!  Thank you for coming by today!

I took a big leap of faith and used a larger piece of this dsp for this card.  I did mat it with a piece of Highland Heather card stock before adding it to the white card base.  I thought a butterfly was the perfect addition to the sympathy card.

While I had the Hydrangea Hill dsp on my table from yesterday's card, I went ahead and made this one using some of the pieces that were about the right size.  The colors in this dsp are just gorgeous!  It's been one of my favorite collections so it has been one I have been hoarding and hesitating to cut it up. But then SU always seems to come out with a new one that is even more beautiful!

Two more cards using up some of this gorgeous paper will be posted tomorrow and Friday.  Thank you for coming by today!

Have you ever had to take lemons and made lemonade with your cards?  Well, I sure did with this one!

Yes, the front of the card is pretty and was just perfect...............until...........I discovered that I had added the white insert on the back side of the front piece!  Now what???

It took me a while to decide to put another 4" x 5 1/4" piece of white on the other side.  But then the blank white piece of the left side looked rather silly.  I fussy cut a flower piece from the piece of dsp and added it in the center.  Then I fussy cut a floral image from the side of the sheet and added it to the lower right side of the other white panel.  I think my lemonade turned out pretty sweet.  lol

The layout for the front of the card came from Karen Titus.  We all probably have strips of dsp like this that we can turn into banners so it is a really easy way to get that dsp on to cards!

These are the other two cards I made following the video from Owl Star Stampers.  You can find a link to the video on my May 1st post.

This is another card I made following the video from Owl Star Stampers that I referred to on my May 1st post.  For this one the only pieces from the Flight and Airy dsp are the two 1/2" strips.  I really did like the way this card turned out.

Choosing the right paper is important!

Heidi Collins demonstrated this layout on a YouTube video that I cannot find again.  I had the Softly Stippled dsp on my table and decided to use it.  I love the soft colors of this one but the card is pretty "blah".  It is a little better in person but I wasn't happy with it.

In an effort to use up more of my older dsp, I pulled out the Hydrangea Hill dsp and made the one below.  It doesn't show up very well, but the 4" x 5 1/4" piece of dsp does have a subtle flower design.

Joey Hartman is another demonstrator that I recently discovered on YouTube.  This video was about making 5-minute cards.  She was having some trouble but was able to laugh at herself about how her 5-minute cards turned into longer than that.  I followed her directions for measurements and mine came together just fine.  After watching, I decided to pull out some of my retired dsp and make a couple using the Ever Eden dsp.  I love this paper!

Joey's video shows more than one style of card.

After making the two cards above, I decided to make one using the Softly Stippled dsp.  You can see that one below.  I wasn't as happy with that one.

Two more cards using the "All About Autumn" retired dsp. Thank you for coming by today!
