STAMPIN' UP! - Twitterpated Designer Paper #5 (NOW ALL GONE)

This was the last card I made using this designer paper.  There is a "vine" looking design in the paper and I thought this die cut worked great with it.  Now let's hope I don't accidentally find more of this particular dp in my stash.

Thanks for bearing with me this week to show you so many similar cards.  I'll try to have something new for you next week.  YIKES!  Next Monday will be February 1st!  Have a great weekend!

STAMPIN' UP! - Twitterpated Designer Paper #4

The flower I added to this card was die cut with the die from the Stampin' Up! set "Botanical Builder".  Thank you for stopping by today!  One more card tomorrow and this paper is history.

STAMPIN' UP! - Twitterpated Designer Paper #1

Back to using up designer papers!  I had one sheet of this designer paper left so I cut five strips with it to make some very quick cards.  This is one of them.  I will post two more tomorrow and then one each on Thursday and Friday.  The designer paper is from a Stampin' Up! pack called "Twitterpated" and has been retired for a long time.

I still had enough to cut a 6" x 6" piece.  I decided that I will never use up all of the papers I have from Stampin' Up! (not to mention the 12" x 12" sheets I have from craft stores) so I decided to cut up some 6"x 6" sheet that I will offer for sale at a bargain price.  It will be a big variety of patterns for someone to have a really fun time.

Thank you for coming by today!

VALENTINE #4

The paper on this card is also from the "From My Heart" designer paper collection.  The dotted paper has a glossy finish to it.  I punched a gold glitter heart and then the slightly smaller red glitter heart.  I ordered this Stampin' Up!  paper pack when it was being cleared out; but when I got it, I was actually a little disappointed in it.  Once I saw cards being made with it, I decided I was really glad I got it afterall.

VALENTINE #3

Another card using the "From the Heart" designer papers.  A second sheet had this different heart that could be punched out. The white portion is part of that design.  I didn't want to accidentally ruin the piece by trying to stamp anything.  Instead I used the mini heart punch from SU to cut out a gold heart from glitter paper.  The strips behind the heart are also from  the same pack of papers.

Thank you for coming by today!  Hope you have a great weekend!

VALENTINE #2

The "From the Heart" designer paper pack had two sheets of this heart design and there are two coordinating punches.  I cut out the heart with the smaller punch and added it to a solid red heart cut with the larger scalloped punch.  This piece was then added to a strip of one of the other designer paper sheets.

VALENTINE #1

Sorry I got all wrapped up in watching the Inauguration this morning and forgot to get this posted!

I have a Sizzix die that cuts the main piece and other pieces for the layering.  I assembled those and then punched various sizes of hearts in different papers.  The patterned designer papers are from a retired Stampin' Up! "From the Heart" pack.  This makes a fun card to send to one of our grandchildren.

THE LAST OF THIS PAPER

I forgot to get this posted this morning.  Last week when I thought I had used the last of this 6 x 6 designer paper, I added a "P.S." saying that I had discovered one more sheet.   I quickly cut it to get these two pieces. That left a small piece left over but I simply tossed it.

I think tomorrow I'll start showing you some Valentine cards.  Hope you will come back as I begin posting what I have made.

ONE MORE SHEET USED!

Several months ago I pulled out a 6 x 6 paper pack and decided what pieces I would keep.  There have been four sheets from the one pack on my craft table ever since.  It was time that the sheets get onto a card.  It just happened that the pieces coordinated with Stampin' Up! Calypso Coral so I added a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of the Coral to a Cream card base.  The floral piece was cut to 3 3/4" x 5" and added.  I cut three banners in the three different papers and stamped the sentiment.

After making the card above, I had this strip of paper and certainly wasn't going to throw it away.

One of the sheets of paper had strips of a glosssy design in coral, light green (as shown above), navy, light blue and cream.  (You can see the other strips of one sheet below) I used a portion of the a coral strip on the banner for the first card.  For the second card I took the strip of light olive green, cut it in half and attached the halves on the top and bottom edges of the floral design.

Tomorrow you will see three cards I got from the second 6 x 6 floral sheet.  I'll have no further use for the strips with the glossy pattern, so I am actually throwing them away.  YAY!

P.S. Guess what I just found........another 6 x 6 sheet of this same design!  Well I can retrieve the sheet of striped papers out of the wastebasket and make two more cards!!!

STAMPIN' UP! - Twitterpated designer paper (Part 1)

Last week I mentioned to some friends that I really need to go back to some of the partial packages of designer paper that I have from Stampin' Up! and get them used up.  SU seems to be coming out with more such beautiful papers faster than I can use them up!  Some of the papers are designs that I have been hoarding.....hating to cut into them.  Other are papers that I'm not quite sure what to do with them although I may find some ideas on Pinterest.

Here are half of the cards that I made over the weekend using up one of the patterns from the long retired Twitterpated paper pack.  The cards will appear to be from a One Sheet Wonder format, but they really weren't and I'm not sure that they all came from a single sheet.

#1
The color in the designer paper is Island Indigo.  I couldn't find any in my paper supplies so I used Not Quite Navy.  It's OK but I wasn't real happy with it.

#2
One more card using the Night of Navy.

#3
I didn't give up.  I went back through some of the card stock that had multiple colors and discovered two full sheets of it and a couple smaller pieces in the 2011-2013 In Color package.  The rest of the cards for today and tomorrow made me much happier.

#4
Instead of a vertical card, I turned this one into a horizontal format.  The butterflies were die cut from a set of Spellbinders butterfly dies.

#5
My least favorite of the cards.  I need to do something with the white areas on the left and right side.  Maybe a couple of small butterflies would fill in the emptiness.

#6
Tomorrow I will show you the other six that I made with this same designer paper.  If only this had made a dent in the sheets I need to use!  I'll keep trying and have two more pieces of designer paper on my craft table to do some more.  They'll probably all look a lot like these so I won't be posting all of them but maybe just a card or two with the different dp designs.

Thank you for coming by today!

VALENTINE CARDS TO DONATE

I like to come up with a card that is quick and easy to make but still not look like we just threw it together.  I found this idea on Pinterest.  The red strip was used instead of ribbon that I saw on Pinterest and the sentiment is different as well.  My friend, Carol, and I were able to make 108 of this card.........some will go to a nursing home and the other one will go to the independent living center where my mother had lived for nine years.  Mother is still with us but in a different facility.

In 2019 and before there were three of us that got together at my dining room table to make these cards.  Two of us still got together to do Valentines last year but after that we decided it was safer not to do it together.  Carol lives across the alley from me so we are still able to make these "together but separately".  I cut/punch everything ahead of time and then give half to her to assemble and do some stamping.  She did her half of these very quickly.  I've been working on other cards as well so only have part of mine done.

Even though my mother is living in a different center, she will still get Valentines.  If this virus ever goes away or it becomes safe for the three of us to get together again, I might consider adding cards for the new facility where Mother now resides.  I just can't bring myself to cut off the living center because the staff there is wonderful.  They treated Mother with the utmost love and care.  All of us love them as well.

CASING LISA CURCIO - Slider Card

I hadn't seen this type of slider card before and when Lisa demonstrated this on one of her latest videos, I decided to make one and actually had the same papers on one that she showed.  My  aim was to make one just like hers.  The SU designer paper is Ornate Garden.  Shocker.....My first try was different.  When I was gathering my supplies I noticed that a green shade was Old Olive so I grabbed a sheet of Old Olive card stock.  I made the card base, added the daisy design to each side and then realized that the paper behind her daisy was not the Old Olive color!  Fortunately there was another double sided design in the pack that worked just fine.  I like the card, but it wasn't the same as hers.  lol

Then when I looked at her card again, Lisa had used Mint Macaroon and I realized that the square piece on hers had shiny gold paper on it and I hadn't added that.  Now for my second try.  I did the card base, added the flower paper and then did the square (which you will see below).  I started with a 3 1/2" square of Mint Macaroon, added a 3 3/8" square piece of shiny gold and then a 3 1/4" square of the patterned paper which also has a shiny gold design.   Strike 2!!!!

One more time............I saved the square from the 2nd attempt and will use the card base at a later time.  Lisa's card ALSO had shiny gold around the floral pieces on the card base.  Below is the final result!

I really like the dp with the shiny gold design, but I actually decided after the whole episode that I really do like the Old Olive color better with that floral paper.  If you are wanting to make a card with a slider like this, you can go to YouTube and search for "Slider Card" with Lisa Curcio's name as the one doing the video.

This is the card with the slider raised up.  Thank you for coming by today!

SAME DESIGN - 3 Different Colors

The main idea for this came from Pinterest.  The cards I saw were square and I'm not personally fond of making square cards.  I don't want to pay extra postage because of the shape and I think they look a little skimpy in an A2 envelope.  So I turned them into A2 cards.

STAMPIN' UP! - Forever Greenery designer paper

I saw a card very similar to this either on Pinterest or someone's blog and had copied a picture of it to one of my "idea" folders.  When I went to make it the picture had disappeared and I couldn't find it anywhere again.  This is close to what I saw.

CASING LISA CURCIO

I really liked the layout of the card that Lisa Curcio showed on a video I watched.  I had most of the same supplies she used.  The only things I am disappointed in is that I wish I would have put the die cut stamped leaves lower.

To begin with, I should have cut the striped designer paper a little wider.  Then I would have placed the stamped leaves lower so that the stem of the leaves would be behind the sentiment. The sentiment could have been added with more of the striped dp showing. I may try another one because I still have another one of the foil wreaths.
