STAMPIN' UP! - Dainty Flowers dsp

The husband of one of my husband's classmates passed away recently and this is the card I made for her.  Check the inside of the card below.

Yesterday I showed a card that used one of the six designs on a sheet of 12 x 12 paper.  This is one of the two strips that is also on that sheet.  To fit on the front of a standard A2 card, I had to trim down the length of it.  Then I added a strip of the Rich Razzleberry card stock to the back of each side.  Everything was added to a card base of Fresh Freesia.

One month of 2023 is already gone. How times flies! Thank you for coming by today!

FINAL EXPRESSIONS IN INK (For now)

Although I have been able to make a bunch of cards using papers from this designer series package, I still have more of it to use.  I'll take a break from it for now because there are a lot of other papers calling my name..........some old and some new.

Thank you for coming by today!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JENNIFER!

Today our first born is celebrating her 49th birthday..........gosh that makes me old!  Unfortunately her card isn't getting mailed until ON her birthday!  I had intended to make a card for her last weekend but I had come down with a horrible cold and sore throat which kept me out of commission for several days.  It wasn't until yesterday that I was up to making something for her.

I have some of the Stampin' Up! "Wonderful World" dsp and have seen some really pretty cards with it.  Two of the sheets in the package have these large designs that can be cut out.  I am not a fan of having to fussy cut things but this wasn't too bad and making a special card for one of our daughters was worth a try.  I even fussy cut the sentiment on the front.  This is a pretty close CASE of one of the cards I saw on Pinterest.  The little clear embellishments are from Hero Arts.

Our daughter knows how sick I've been so I know she understands, but I certainly felt bad having to send the card late.

Jennifer often complains about how the weather ruins plans on her birthday and in true fashion, it snowed today.....not much.....but just a reminder to her.  I found this picture of her when she was about 2 years old and probably in January, so I posted it along with our wishes to her on Facebook.

SUPER SIMPLE CARD

There were two 12" x 12" pieces of designer series paper in the Expressions of Ink pack with this design across the middle of the sheet.  I cut the piece in half right through the middle of the design.  Very quickly I had enough to make 12 cards.

The design uses Pear Pizzaz and Shaded Spruce with gold foil throughout.  I cut the 12 pieces down to the 4" x 5 1/4".   Half of the pieces were added to Pear Pizzaz card bases and the other half added to Shaded Spruce card bases.  Various sentiments were added to some of them.  Check out a second one below.

I was a little disappointed in how this one looked after I had stamped the sentiment from the "Big Wishes" stamp set.

In my efforts to continue using pieces of this designer series paper, I found a card like this and really liked the layout.

USING IDEA FROM RITA HOLMES

Card #1

Card #2

Card #3

These cards were made using the idea of stack, cut and shuffle.  Just that quick you can make three cards using the same papers.  I tried to find the video on YouTube but was unable to find it.  The cards were finished by adding the die cut flower.  This is one of the kits I had made up for my friends to also make.  All of the pieces were cut in advance.

EXPRESSIONS IN INK BACKGROUND

After making the card with my friends that used some of this paper, I pulled out the package to get more of it used up.  I saw a card similar to this and decided it was a great reason to pull out the butterfly dies that had not been used for a while.  The dsp from this sheet makes a really great background.

For the next week, I will be posting cards that I made with more of the Expressions in Ink designer series paper.  Thank you for coming by today!

STAMPIN' UP! - Expressions in Ink

My friends and I hadn't had a play date for quite a while where we just made cards from kits that I had made up.  In September we were making the Halloween cards, in October we were making Thanksgiving cards, in November we did the Christmas cards. Then December got so busy we weren't able to get together at all.

I had started some of the Valentine cards that we donate and since we got finished with them early, I pulled out the container of kits that I had made up late late summer.  These are cards that we make and they get to take home.

I'm sure this is one that I saw on Pinterest.  I really like it.  The little butterfly is from Savvy Stamps.

STAMPIN' UP! - Bouquet of Love Hybrid Folder

I've only used this hybrid set of the folder and die, but it is gorgeous and so easy to use!  This set is great for Valentine's Day, anniversaries or weddings.  I think the next time I use it for a Valentine I will cut the heart in red or a coordinating color to the card base.  The heart was popped with foam squares.

TWO VALENTINES

I probably posted these cards in 2022 but they are cards that will be used this year.  I didn't have anything lined up to post so decided to share them again.

USING DIES FOR VALENTINES

The heart I used on this card was left over from the ones we used on cards we are donating.  I have a die that cuts the border of tiny hearts.  I didn't realize that it would cut the card stock into two pieces.  I very carefully placed the two pieces back together to get the look I was after.

BEAUTIFUL DIE CUT HEART

This Valentine didn't require a lot of time.  I already had a die cut heart in my Valentine supplies.  I embossed a heart background and added both to the Real Red card base.

JUST FOR YOU VALENTINE

The hearts were made with the Stampin' Up! punches that coordinated with the "From the Heart" designer series paper.  The flowers stamped in the center are from the "I Like You" stamp set.  I made this one to use as a sample for what we might make for the independent living center.

When we made the card, we decided not to color the flowers.  We made 40 of this one.  All of the cards that we donate are finished, packaged and ready to deliver.  It always feels good to have them done early!

THE LAST FROM THE HEART DSP

This was one of the final cards my friends and I made using this dsp.  I had a few pieces that we used n this size.  I didn't want to cut it down any further because I really just wanted to use up the papers.  After I had all of the pieces cut and organized for us to get together there were STILL some pieces left but one of my friends was happy to take them for her own use.  One package of dsp ALL USED!

MORE FROM THE HEART DSP

This was a fun one to make.  I had already assembled the piece with all of the strips of the two dsp patterns on a white piece of card stock.  All we had to do was add the white mat to the red card base, attach the piece with the strips and then the 3" square with the heart cut out of the middle.  A white 4" x 5 1/4" white piece of card stock was added to the inside.

STAMPIN' UP! - From the Heart DSP

I had some of this paper left and was determined to get it used.  This is one of the cards my friends and I made.  One of the centers is getting a variety of designs.  Tomorrow and the next day there will two more cards using this paper but different layouts.

VALENTINE CARDS USING DIES

Monday my friends Carol and Joanne came to help make the Valentine cards that we donate to three care centers.  This is one of the designs we did for one of the centers.  I have a set of four unbranded heart dies.  These are two of them.  The cards are 4" x 4".  Come back tomorrow and there will be another Valentine that we made.

STAMPIN' UP! - HAND-PENNED FLOWERS, FRAMED FLORETS

Unfortunately the birthday card we sent to our granddaughter in December never arrived.  When I was told, I naturally decided I needed to make another one for her.  Fortunately we do not put cash in the cards for the grandchildren but use checks.  Since her birthday is December 12th, it is possible that her card got mixed up with all of the Christmas mail.  Who knows where it is!  I am hoping that eventually it will either be delivered or returned to our address.

VALENTINE FOR OUR GRANDSON

I'll make this short since I am expecting my two friends to come and help make the cards that we donate for Valentine's Day.  We always have fun getting together.

Now that our grandson is 16 years old, it is getting more difficult to come up with cards for him that aren't too feminine.  I found one similar to this on Pinterest and decided that this might work. What do you think?

HYBRID BOUQUET OF LOVE DIE AND FOLDER

I watched a video of a card doing these layers but now can't find it to link for you.  To get the layers all lined up just right I cut the three hearts all at the same time.  Well, only two actually were cut successfully, but the pink layer had enough of an indentation that I was able to line up the die again and finish it.  After cutting the hearts, then I embossed the front layer and the pink heart that had been cut out.  All of the layers were then added.  When the card is completely closed the cut out areas line up perfectly.

A 4" x 5 1/4" piece of white was added to the inside.  The embossed pink heart was lined up to show through the window and adhered to the white layer inside.

The front of the card I saw was finished differently, but I just added some punched hearts to finish mine.

2 VALENTINE CARDS

Just choose two coordinating pieces of dsp that are 4" x 5 1/4" and cut off a corner (any size). Switch the pieces and you can have two cards in no time at all.   After cutting, I turned over the two pieces and added tap to adhere the two together and then wrapped some ribbon to hide where the two pieces met.  The bow was tied separately and added with glue dots.

FRAMED FLORETS DIES & FITTING FLORETS DSP

As soon as I saw this set, I knew it was a "must have".  I know I have way too much paper and other supplies, but that was just too pretty to pass up.  There is a die to cut out a few of the flowers on two of the sheets.  There isn't a die for this design so I fussy cut it.

With paper this pretty, I try very hard not to waste a bit of it.  This little piece made a fun way to add some embellishment to the inside of the card.

ALWAYS IN MY HEART

While I was exploring Pinterest for Valentine ideas, I saw this card mixed in because it was using the Always In My Heart dies.  I had the set on my table to possibly use for Valentines, but decided to make an Anniversary card like the one I saw HERE.  I believe the one I saw on Pinterest possibly added the smaller white layer with dimensionals but sometimes that is difficult to get it on straight.  I just used Tombow glue to add it to the card base.

FRAMED FLORETS STAMPS & FITTING FLORETS DSP

I didn't use the dies for this card........but used just the stamps and dsp.  This is such a pretty package of papers.  Once again, HERE is a link to the video if you missed my post yesterday.

FITTING FLORETS DSP & FRAMED FLORETS STAMPS/DIES

Susan Campfield has a video on YouTube showing this type of card.....a great way to use a 4" x 12" piece of designer series paper.  While I had the video up, I decided to make a couple of them.  Tomorrow I will show the second card I made.  (See the inside below)

FRAMED FLORETS STAMPS, FITTING FLORETS DSP & PAINTED TEXTURE FOLDER

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I received the Fitting Florets dsp and the Framed Florets Stamps & Dies a couple of weeks ago but was still playing with my Christmas supplies.  New Year's Eve my husband was enjoying the football games on TV so I went to my craft table and played with these new items.  I had Balmy Blue card stock on my table already so I decided to use it as a first try.  I like the layout but will probably do something a little more colorful for my next card.  I'm loving the frames that a part of this collection.

I want to wish all of you a very Happy New Year!  May we all have a happy, healthy 2023!

ONE LAST GIFT CARD HOLDER

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

This was one of the gift card holders I used for our grandchildren.  It's an extremely easy one to make.  It does end up being a little smaller than the A2 size.  I used the Whimsy & Wonder dsp and coordinating stamp set.
