CHRISTMAS EVE

The designer paper is from Stampin' Up!. I cut the beautiful candles from a die and carefully added some glue from a glue pad to add it to the card.

We traditionally go to church on Christmas Eve.  This year I'm afraid that won't be happening.  Our church was damaged this summer by a Derecho that toppled our church's steeple and due to safety reasons we are not able to use the inside of the sanctuary.  Services have been held in an area of the parish center but with more limited seating due to physical distancing and some people refusing to wear a mask, I haven't felt safe attending church. Very grateful that I can at least watch services on YouTube from a video that a previous priest is making available.

Repairs have begun but won't be completed for a few months due to winter weather.  The bells in the tower were also sent off to be refurnished.

Our parish has been known for it's beautiful music from our organist and the choir.  Christmas Eve services were normally packed with overflow seating available. This year I'm not even sure if there will be any music.  Even when we return to the sanctuary, I'm not sure our organist will be available.  It's such a sad time and yet we need to be rejoicing the birth of Jesus.

Thank you for stopping by!

The card is beautiful, Vicki! So sorry you won't be able to attend church. Our church hasn't held indoor services since March. We'll be going to a very short service in the parking lot this afternoon, and then watching the Christmas Ever service on YouTube later.

Beautiful card. I especially like that you used glitter card for the die-cut. It really helps it to stand out. We haven't had any indoor church services since March. Even though our church is quite large, it is not safe to gather in groups so church services are online only.

The dsp I used on this is from an "In Color" set of 6 x 6 set of papers.  I thought I had to have it but have not use it very much...
