SNOWY WINTER SCENE

I had the Feels Like Frost dsp on my table trying to use up some more of the sheets.  (Why did I buy 2 packages?  Oh, that's right it is just so pretty!)  Then I saw a card using the retired Stampin' Up! "Hometown Greetings" Edgelits dies.  When I pulled out the die set, I already had a strip cut out waiting to be used.  So for this card, I used retired paper and a card part.  YAY!

I can't take credit for the idea of putting these together.  For the two "blue" trees, I just cut some additional ones from the same die set.  The card I saw did use different dies for those three trees.  They were cut with white card stock.  Although the dsp package mentions Night of Navy as a color, I sponged with "Not Quite Navy" ink because I actually thought it blended better with the background colors.

Thanks for coming by today!  Can you believe tomorrow is December 1st?

SEASON'S GREETINGS - Using Peaceful Prints dsp

I am still trying to use up the paper from this free package of dsp.  My card is based on one I saw on Pinterest.  I used the measurements for the white layer. the plaid dsp and the die cut design.  Then I used a different embossing folder for the white layer but scored it the same as the one I saw.  The sentiment is different.  I also added a die cut deer from the paper instead of using a snowflake.  You can see the card I used as inspiration for mine  HERE.

USING FOREVER FERN FOR CHRISTMAS - 2 Cards

IT IS GOOD TO THINK OUTSIDE OF THE BOX

I am not one who can "think outside the box" and come up with different uses for stamp sets but Rita Holmes sure did with this idea!  She had a live video where she had three versions of cards using the Forever Fern stamp set.  She called them her "Simply Stamped, Simply Stamped with a lot more and Simply Stamped fully loaded" versions.  I didn't make the first one but I did make the 2nd and 3rd ones.  Mine are basically the same as hers but of course it is difficult to completely copy  with this type of stamping.  I really like both of them.

CHRISTMAS CARD FOR CARE CENTERS

When we make 120-130 cards for the care centers we try to come up with a simple design but something pleasing to the eye.  Last year after Christmas, I found note cards on the Michael's website on a great sale.   I bought several packages of them thinking we could use the note cards for at least some of the ones we do in bulk.  Sometimes we make three different versions but we made all of them alike this time.   The note cards are this black and white plaid and the front and back have the same pattern.

I wasn't sure what we were going to do but made up a couple of samples to choose from.  The one we didn't use kept the note card together but the paper is a little light weight.  I decided to stretch the bargain I had found and cut the cards into 4 strips........so now we have more of the paper to use on a future project.

The combination of the red and green with the black and white turned out to make what we felt like was a very festive card to donate.

CUTE GIFT CARD HOLDER

When I checked out the videos from Tina Shaw, I also ran across a video for this fun gift card holder.  A friend of mine (Carol) had showed me one like this last year but I had never made one.  It is pretty easy to make but using plaid paper complicated it a little because I wanted to match the plaid on the two pieces.  Tina showed how she did it.  The only downfall of the holder is that once the "lid" is taken off it is a little touchy to get it back on again...........but worth it.  You can see the directions HERE.

CASING TINA SHAW

So how many of you are out shopping all the Black Friday deals?  I haven't done that for years even though I know there are some pretty good prices out there.  I have been known to pick up a couple of deals from on-line though.

While scrolling through posts on Pinterest looking for ideas to us the "Peaceful Prints" dsp, I saw this card mixed in with many others.  Mine is slightly different, but you can see the original one HERE.  I have the Delightful Tag Topper punch from Stampin' Up! but haven't made good use of it.  I really like how this card came together.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

The Stampin' Up! embossing folder provides a perfect background for Fall and Thanksgiving cards.  I had three of these gold leaves on my table so I made three like this.

Sorry this picture is a little "washed out" but I wanted to make more Thanksgiving cards like the one above.  For the rest of my cards I die cut Maple and Oak leaves from gold glitter paper.  I actually like them a lot better.

I hope all of you are spending special time with family and/or friends.  It is a time when we all  need to be thankful for our lives and what we have.  We are blessed!

GIVE THANKS FOR ALL THINGS

Using non-traditional fall colors for a Thanksgiving card was not something I would have thought to do, but "again" I saw one on Pinterest and thought I would make a couple of them.

I'M ON A ROLL..........

All of these cards using the "Peaceful Prints" papers were made within a few days.  I had so much fun using them, that I was sorry I didn't have more.  Like I previously said, there are so many great ideas on Pinterest using these designs and I just love the red and black plaid for the deer!

A BUNCH OF POSTS ALL IN ONE

WOW!  I thought I had scheduled posts for the rest of last week, but when I checked this morning, I realized my last post was this past Wednesday!  So...........here are the items that were supposed to be posted for Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and TODAY!

All of the items were made using the "Peaceful Prints" dsp that was a free item last year.  The first two pictures show a card that I will use for gift cards.  This is a CASE of one that Rita Holmes made on a live video.  You can see the video HERE.  You will see how it uses a big piece of your dsp if you are wanting to use it up.  Since dsp is a lighter weight paper, the dsp is adhered to a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card base.

Friday
This is a CASE of one I saw on Pinterest.

Saturday
Basic CASE of one on Pinterest.

Sunday
Another CASE

Today's card uses a combination of three designs from the Peaceful Prints dsp pack.  It is a CASE of one I saw on Pinterest.  There are a lot of great ideas there for this paper. I used a different snowflake and used some of the red Stampin' Up! Candy Dots that I have been hoarding.

I am still on a mission to use up retired papers and the quickest way for me to do that is to CASE cards I see that someone else made using these products.   These cards helped but it is amazing how many cards you can get out of a package of 12 sheets from a 12 x 12 package!

STAMPIN' UP! DSP and Hero Arts Stamps

I believe these are the last of the cards I'll be making using this designer series paper.  It was a fun one to work with.

STAMPIN' UP! - Specialty Sweet Shop dsp

Two of the last cards that will be made using the papers from that dsp pack.  Two more tomorrow and then that may well be the last.  I have the rest set aside to see if my friends would like to take what is left.  The ice cream cone stamp and sentiment are from an old Hero Arts clear stamp set.

2 THANKSGIVING CARDS

This is one of the first card I made with the Soft Seedlings stamp set.  It is a CASE of one I saw on Pinterest.  We also made a modified version of this for one of the care centers where we donate holiday cards.

The stickers we used on these cards were donated.  Photographing the card makes it look like the leaves have bright spots.  Actually they are all like the one on the far right.

It's "funny" that the cardstock we used for the base of these cards is the Stampin' Up! More Mustard.  It's one of my least favorite colors, but it was absolutely perfect for these cards because it blended with the colors in the leaves.  I guess it was good I didn't get rid of it.  This is one of the three styles of Thanksgiving cards my friends and I made for the care centers.

STAMPIN' UP! - The Gangs All Meer

This is a Peek-A-Boo Fun Fold card that I saw Rita Holmes make in one of her videos.  You can see the video HERE.  About 12 years ago my husband and I took a trip with two other couples to the Grand Canyon.  One of the husbands had a birthday recently.  These little critters and the cactus made me think of our trip so I made this card for him.

On the inside I stamped a sentiment on the middle section and wrote our own messages on the left panel.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ABBY!

Our granddaughter, Abby, is celebrating her birthday today.  I like to make extra special cards for the grandchildren if I can come up with some ideas.  She is now 19 so a "more grown up" card seems to be appropriate.  I had posted a card using this style a while back and decided to give it a try again using different designer papers.  (See the card opened below)

On the far right panel the white piece opens for the sentiment and a messages from us.  I didn't think to take a picture of it, but I also made one of those little treat boxes with her name on it like I did for her sister in August.  I used some of the paper from this same designer series paper package. This is the one I made for her sister.

STAMPIN' UP! - Vintage Leaves

This card was actually the second one I made.  The first one I made is below.  On my first try I used blending brushes but got a little heavy handed with the coloring and wasn't real thrilled with the card.  For this card I used sponges to add the colors and was much happier with the result.

MORE BUTTERFLIES

While I was going through my "collection" of dies, I pulled this one out because it has not been used often enough.  I used the glitter paper behind it, but I think it would be pretty to use some designer papers as well.

The white layer was added with dimensionals before I thought about whether to add a sentiment to the front.  I will need to be careful how to add one if I decide to put something in the lower left area of the card.  Should I leave it as it is or do you think it needs something?

SIMON SAYS DIE

Simon Says had several dies like this that make really pretty cards by putting glitter paper or dsp behind the die cut.  I had three of the designs but have lost one of them. The sentiment is from a $5 mini set from PapertreyInk.  One of my friends who helps make all of the holiday cards we donate, celebrated her birthday Sunday so this is the card I made for her.

"JUST FOR YOU"

One of my favorite things to use on cards is a butterfly and I hadn't used one in quite a while.  The die cut area behind the butterfly was done by cutting the design twice.  The die is from the Penny Black "stencil-cut" set of three dies.  The butterfly was stamped and then die cut.  I added it to the card but kept the wings free.  I've already sent the card to a friend but I am sure I used Calypso Coral for the coloring and mat.

A SIMPLE THANKSGIVING CARD

I used one of the many leaf stamps that I have and simply stamped it with three different colors....So Saffron, Dusty Durango and Pumpkin Pie.  The sentiment was stamped with Early Espresso.

GATHER TOGETHER AND DAISIES

This is a CASE of a card I found on Pinterest when looking for other ideas.  The sentiment, stamped leaves and die cut leaves are from the Gather Together.  Daisy Lane stamps were used for the flowers and then punched twice using Dusty Durango, Pumpkin Pie and So Saffron card stock.  The centers were stamped with the piece in the Daisy Delight set using Early Espresso ink.

It isn't a typical Thanksgiving card but I really like it.  Thank you for coming by today!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY HUSBAND

Even though I made my own cards to send, I usually end up buying a card for my husband.  (I know, shame on me.)  When this "Nuts About Squirrels" set came out I knew I had to have it even if I didn't use it a lot.

Gary has two place where he places whole cobs of corn for the squirrels.  One of our daughters gave him a cute little picnic table for one ear.  One time he even made one that twirled around when the squirrel went to get the corn.  It was hilarious to watch them but they soon got used to it.

The stamp set doesn't have any corn so I used a die from one of the "Chick" sets to make it more personal for him.  The squirrels did get acorns though from a neighbors tree and sometimes bury them n our yard.

Thank you for coming by today!  Hope you are having a great weekend.

CASING RITA HOLMES

Recently Rita had a live video demonstration of using the Forever Fern stamp to make a wreath.  I slightly changed my colors but otherwise pretty much made the card like hers.  The only thing I would change is possibly moving the design just a bit lower.  You can see the video HERE.

Two days ago she showed a Christmas card using the Forever Fern stamps and dies and it is beautiful. It isn't a set that I would have thought to use for Christmas.  I hope to make one soon.

BUNNY ON A FENCE

A few weeks ago I saw this cute little bunny die cut on several different cards.  The die set comes with a stool for the bunny to sit on too but I think he is so fun to use sitting in various places.  The fence die and bird are from Impression Obsession, the "tree" is from Memory Box.  I found the little bunny on Amazon and there was no brand name attached to it

It looks like the little bunny is looking up into the tree and smiling at the bird.  I sent this card to a friend to hopefully give HER a smile too.

PRETTY PUMPKINS

My card base is white.  I used a strip of the Beauty of the Earth dsp on the lower portion of the card and then added a  1/2" strip of Pumpkin Pie card stock to the middle.  The pumpkins were stamped and then colored with blender pens.  I matted the stamped piece with Misty Moonlight card stock. The sentiment is from the Gather Together stamp set.

Thank you for stopping by today!

Two more cards using the "All About Autumn" retired dsp. Thank you for coming by today!
